MUCUGL: October 2011 – Lync Server and Polycom Conferencing Interop

In this, our second MUCUG gathering, the kind folks at Polycom have offered to host the event at their London Executive Briefing Centre, or EBC – naturally we agreed!

“The Polycom® Executive Briefing Centers and Solutions Centers offer exciting experiences that are unlike any others in the world of corporate briefings. At a Polycom center, you can explore the full range of our solutions hands-on, and easily envision how they can work specifically in your business.”

In our first session Mike Adams (Polycom Customer Experience Manager) will be running a series of Polycom/Lync integration demos – it’ll be a 6pm sharp kick-off, so if you are late you might miss out!

Then what better way of demonstrating Polycom’s telepresence but by Mike Stacy and Jeff Schertz (Polycom Solutions Architects and Lync MVPs) joining us to present on Audio/Video Conferencing and Interop in Lync Server.

Finally Tom, Justin and Adam will provide an industry update and focused Lync guidance/sharing.

A full agenda can be found below, we’re looking forward to seeing you there!

The 1st MUCUGL event is a wrap!

Last night Justin, Tom and I ran the first MUCUGL event and based on the feedback it was a resounding sucess!

“Great to contact peers”, “A very informative event”, “Great first meeting” & “Very good, many thanks!”

We’d like to personally thank those that made it along and we hope to see you at future events (October 20th agenda to be announced soon!)

Presentations from Justin, Tom and I are now available via the MUCUGL SlideShare account (also embedded below)

MUCUGL: July 2011 – An Introduction to Lync

In this, our first MUCUG event, the first presentation by Adam Jacobs will introduce Lync Server and some high level differences over OCS. In the second session Justin Morris will talk about the resilience capability available in Lync Server, demonstrating how the Microsoft UC stack could replace an enterprise PBX.

We’d also like to encourage attendees bring their own topics for a chalk and talk session, for example, particular adoption or environmental barriers (existing voice setup, business case suggestions or integration opportunities).

Finally Tom Arbuthnot will cover off an industry update, including noteable new resources, announcements and futures. Q. & A. and then to the pub!
